Effectiveness is bringing about the right change to achieve the desired output. Efficiency does not necessarily mean effectiveness but effectiveness means certain efficiency. Often we confuse efficiency with effectiveness. Most of the time when we say we want to increase efficiency what we actually mean is we have to increase the effectiveness of the action. Effectiveness is more about the control that we

Certification is nothing but standardizing a part of operation with a particular focus. For example certification to ISO 9001 means standardization of quality management of the organization. Similarly certification to ISO 14001 means identifying the impact on the environment by the activities of the organization and managing the activities in such a manner that the negative impact is minimized and positive impact is enhanced. Value Engineering

Value is nothing but function/cost. Value is generally divided into 4 types; Use, Esteem, exchange and costs. While conducting a value engineering exercise first the value to be enhanced is identified. Then the function to be enhanced is broken down in small steps and the “Basic” and “Support” functions are classified. Then by means of brain storming ideas are generated for enhancing value and generated ideas are noted. After consultation with relevant people the generated ideas are evaluated and implemented. Investigations are carried out to ensure the impact is as per the requirement or not.
